Inside the Citan Panel Van

Interior comfort? You're in the driving seat.

Your seat and backrest are designed to easily adjust to the perfect position for comfort and safety. The steering wheel is height adjustable. All controls are laid out ergonomically and within easy reach. Shift point display tells you when to change gear for maximum fuel efficiency.
The standard-fit heating and ventilation system with optional air conditioning system gives you control over the climate inside your Citan, while the outside stays where it belongs. Diesel engines are fitted with an electric PTC heater booster to help defrost, de-mist and heat up your van faster during the winter months while keeping heat loss to a minimum.

Multiple stowage compartments: a place for everything...

The intelligent stowage system brings order to the interior of your Citan. As well as the lockable glove compartment, there’s generous stowage space in both front doors, an optional stowage compartment in the centre console (easy to reach and with space for a 1.5-litre bottle), and practical head-level stowage running the length of the windscreen.

Reversing camera

The optional reversing camera is located by the license plate holder on the tailgate or rear door. It is activated when reverse gear is engaged. The camera image is shown on the interior mirror and automatically dimmed if the light intensity is strong. Guide lines help with judging distances, thereby boosting safety.

Key Features

The Citan Panel Van offers two bulkhead options; a full steel bulkhead as standard and the option of a folding bulkhead.

The optional folding bulkhead when used in conjunction with the optional co-driver’s seat is ideal for loading longer items of up to 2886 mm in length.

Cargo can be easily secured with straps attached to load-securing rings on the floor - option to add extra rings anywhere you need along the sidewalls.

Two sliding side doors available on Long and Extra Long Citans.

The Citan Panel Van offers twin rear doors with an opening angle of up to 180 degrees, providing unrestricted access for loading.

Choose a tailgate option for Compact and Long vans - fitted with window and washer system as standard.

Safety Features

Because there’s no such thing as too safe, Mercedes-Benz has an enviable and justified reputation for the emphasis placed on safety. The Citan comes with a range of standard and optional safety features to protect one of your business’s biggest assets: the person sitting behind the wheel of the van.

ADAPTIVE ESP®: sixth sense braking when you need it.

Driver safety is of paramount importance to Mercedes-Benz. ADAPTIVE ESP® is an innovative handling dynamics control system that supports drivers in critical driving conditions by improving the vehicle's directional stability, taking its load into account. It actively intervenes in certain dangerous driving situations - such as impending risk of skidding - by applying a specific braking force to individual wheels, adjusts the engine power output to suit the situation and even dries the brake pads in wet conditions.

Light and rain sensor: for a clear view on things.

Stay safer in a van that’s actively looking out for you. The optional light and rain sensor automatically modifies the lights and wiper frequency to the light and the weather conditions. As dusk is falling, or when entering a tunnel, the vehicle lights switch on automatically, while the first drops of rain activate the wipers, with speed intelligently adjusting to the intensity of the downpour.

Parking sensor: for ultimate City manoeuvrability

Bumps and dings increase the cost of motoring – and if left unattended, negatively affect perceptions of your business. The optional acoustic reversing aid with distance sensor makes very precise manoeuvring possible, facilitating parking in tight spots and helping to avoid potentially costly vehicle damage. The system, which operates on the echo sounding principle, alerts the driver when it recognises that space is becoming tight behind the vehicle, with a sound that becomes progressively louder as the obstacle gets closer.

Hill start assistance

The Citan is fitted with Hill Start assist as standard – take your foot off the brake pedal on an uphill slope and braking pressure is maintained for a short time, so the vehicle doesn’t roll back before you have chance to accelerate and pull away.
This is an integral part of the van’s ESP® system, only engaged on gradients of around 4 % and upwards (note it’s not activated when pulling away on the flat or on a downhill slope) and designed to make everyday stop/start city driving a little bit easier.
