C & L Distributions and Midlands Truck & Van have collaborated for over 40 years, demonstrating a true commitment to customer care, loyalty and quality workmanship.
Craig and Lyubi hence the name started the business together back in 1988 as co-directors but their partnership with Midlands began while supplying the workshop and has worked alongside many team members who are still with Midlands Truck & Van today. Recently, Craig purchased two new Mercedes-Benz Sprinters from our sales executive, Joseph Connor, with whom he has been buying vans for the past nine years. This latest purchase brings Craig's fleet to a total of five Mercedes-Benz vans. He has always chosen Mercedes-Benz and remains loyal to the brand, valuing the benefits that Mercedes-Benz has to offer from the Mercedes-Benz app, Mobilo to aftersales solutions.
C & L is a small family business based in Tamworth, employing 12 staff members, with all six vans traveling across the Midlands and beyond, supplying the motor trade, haulage, construction, water, food industry, and local authorities with workshop consumables and more.
We recently met with Craig and his partner, Lyubi, to hand over the two new vans and to learn more about the working partnership between Midlands Truck & Van and C & L Distribution, as well as why they continue to choose us after all these years. During our visit to their site, it was evident that both Craig and Lyubi take a hands-on approach, from selecting parts to delivering stock to their customers. Their active involvement shows why the staff have been working with them for so long.
Pictured below are Martin Jeavons, who has been with C & L for 8 years, and Simon Wood, who has been with C & L for 25 years. Simon said, "The van is my office." As these sales representatives spend all day on the road delivering & distributing supplies throughout the Midlands— with Martin covering Birmingham, Welshpool, Worcestershire & Evesham, Craig covering Coventry, and Simon covering Birmingham, Derby, and Nottingham — it is essential that the vans perfectly suit both the business and the drivers' needs.
Craig has been buying Mercedes-Benz vans from our sales team for more than 30 years and has built some very strong relationships with Gez O’Reilly whom he has known since he was on the spanners back in 1989 to our aftersales director, Michael Carolan who was an apprentice alongside the technical specialist Tony Friel and even our S24 breakdown tech David Suddick. These longstanding relationships demonstrate the importance of trust in both the brand and the people you work with daily.
The reciprocal business relationship between both companies has flourished for many years. Craig knows that his vans receive first-class service at all three Midlands Truck & Van sites. In return, Craig and his team consistently deliver a first-class service to our workshops, ensuring that our business has all the necessary consumables to deliver a 5-star service to all our customers, which is a testament to the teams involved.
